The project
PROJETO UERÊ is an open doors school with an alternative teaching pedagogy (UERÊ-MELLO), intended for children and youngsters ranging from 4 to 18 years old.
The little Uerês share dreams, accomplishments and the recovering of self-esteem, even on a alarming scenario of extreme poverty, social exclusion, trauma caused by violence and learning disabilities.
In view of this challenge, PROJETO UERÊ aims at integrating children and teenagers with society, helping them reach full citizenship, develop critical thinking, with access to new technologies, and increase school years.
UERÊS receive individual attention on this journey towards confronting multiple learning problems and cognition obstruction.
PROJETO UERÊ intends a different future, with a qualified insertion on the labor market since the beginning, through first job incentive programs.
It was founded in 1998 by Yvonne Bezerra de Mello, Álvaro Bezerra de Mello, Ayrton Secundino Ribeiro, and Héber Moura Júnior.
